Thanksgiving, and growing like a Butterball Turkey!

Jack giving thanks
Dad making dessert
The guys doing the cooking! :D Grandpa Robert, Dad and Justin
For Thanksgiving we went to Grandpa Robert and Grandma Caprice's. It was very nice to get out of the house, for all of us. Jack was a good boy and slept most of the time. All of the sudden he really seems to be growing!
Taken today-- blowing bubbles :P

Taken 11/26

Taken 11/23- first time in the Moby Wrap-- cozy!

11/22- working on the backyard....a communal project! Marie and the girls took on the big task of pulling out wild grass and pruing the two Mesquite trees that once reached to the ground. Great Grandma Geeg pruned the roses. Robert has since planted grass and flowers around the edges.

Over 6 lbs!!

One more Ernie photo...

We took Jack to more of a specialist today just to fully cover our bases since Jack is an IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction) baby. Found out he is just over 6 lbs! We got the green light to go to Thanksgiving dinner with the family here, as long as no one is sick and washes their hands if they are going to hold him. Otherwise we are not supposed to take him out into the public until Jan (depending on his weight) preferably Feb. We have another appointment there in about 2 weeks.

Jack smiles often when falling to sleep- more of a reflex. But, today he looked directly at Mom while she was talking on the phone and gave her a real, big smile! :D What a great day!

1 Month Old!

One month old today-- November 21, 2008....

Taken yesterday....
Great Grandma Geeg

Grandma Cathy

While Grandma Cathy and Great Grandma Geeg were here, Mom got a lot of opportunities to sneak away and do some shopping, and even got to go out to dinner with Dad. They didn't seem to mind babysitting too much. :P Jack is now 1 month old, and loves his new buddy Ernie!

Small update

Jack had another pediatrician appointment Tues. He is now at 5 lbs 10 oz, so growing, even if a bit slowly. We have been having problems with spitting up so were very concerned whether he was getting enough nutrition. He seems to be doing fine now- got a clean bill of health from the Dr. He is extremely alert, and enjoying playtime more and more. Great to have Grandma and Great Grandma here-- pics soon to come.

3 Weeks Old

Jack is 3 weeks old today. He wants to eat more often and sleeps less- hopefully signs of a big growth spurt! (But definite cause of sleep deprivation for mom!)

Yesterday evening he even wanted to play! He was chatty and was pushing up with his legs and swinging his arms around as if he was swimming. We are looking forward to Grandma Cathy and Great Grandma Geeg (Shirley's) visit this Sunday!

Family

Mom and sleepy Jack- taken today

Above is an older photo from Jack's first Pediatrician visit. This was taken on Oct 24 so Jack was only 4 days old! Dad has been working hard since Jack's birth between helping out with his new son, work, the new house, and the old house (condo).

Jack's first official bath! (Today Nov 7- 2 weeks and 3 days old). He was a good boy!

Hello from Jack! (taken today too)

Auntie Cassie

Grandpa Robert stopping by

Autnie Hannah- had to leave for home today :(

Grandma Marie

Auntie Amanda

The girls have been a huge help- between cooking, cleaning, babysitting, working on the once wild backyard (which now looks like a real garden!) etc. You really don't have to leave tomorrow already?!

A Jack-Sized Pumpkin

In just two days, Jack will be two weeks old! Mom and Dad have been super busy trying to get the new house all set up..... oh the joys of moving. Thank goodness friends came to our aid and helped us move- fellow art teachers Tony and Kelly, and Linda even flew all the way in from WA to assist for the weekend and meet Jack. Ashley came by to meet him too, and brought a bunch of Whole Foods deli meals that helped to get us by. She also gave us a box of preemie clothes her son has outgrown that Jack is in desperate need of, because who knew he would be that small! Kim, her daughter and mom were also huge helps with moving and cleaning. We could not have done it without you all!!!

Tonight Grandma Marie and Aunt Cassie, Aunt Hannah, and Aunt Amanda are flying in to stay for a week. We can't wait to see them. Jack is doing well, and seems to be filling out like a champ. His next pediatrician visit is Tuesday. He is still a real pleasure!!

A pic from our first visit to Grandpa Robert and Grandma Caprice's, also Halloween..
