Who is this cranky boy??
On the way home from daycare today Jack fell asleep in the car. So we went to a park and napped for awhile because he really needed it. When we got home, he was very cranky and saying "no, no, no," over and over. He asked for something, then rejected it- not knowing what he wanted. After about half and hour the tylenol kicked in and he was back to his old self. He only had a slight fever so maybe his cold was getting him down a little. He is happy and in bed now, though!

Drs Visit
So now we only have to go to the Doc's once a year, hooray!!
Jack went in for his 2 year appointment today. He gained a pound from his last appointment, and weighs 8oz which puts him in the 5th %.
He had a growth spurt (height wise) and grew 2.5" at 33.5 which is the 25%.
His head circumference is 49 (from 48) which is in the 55th%.
He was crazy busy running around the doctors office in the waiting room- and even wilder back in our own room showing off for the doctor. He was running circles while saying "spinning" and just everywhere. She was a bit surprised at just how fast and energetic he was!

2 years old!
Daycare had a big celebration for him that day so we are waiting to really celebrate on his party at the end of the month. Daycare is supposed to be putting photos and video on a cd from the party for us! It looked like he had a great time.
Jack keeps talking about Dada and fixing wheels. We think he is referencing when we had a tire blow out weeks ago. He says, "Uh-oh, wheel, broken, fix it. Dada fix it."
He also says "Oh, man!" with emphasis in all the right places. As you know, we don't get much rain here but it has been stormy lately. We walked by a puddle and he said, "uh-oh, wa-wa spill! Mess!" If he has a runny nose he also says "spill, nose." He has a little bit of a cold right now. Hoping he will get over that soon!

First time potty at home!
Jack just used the potty at home!! He is good about using it at daycare, but this is a first for at home.
He is starting to point at things and say "sat" for "what's that." And so it begins!

Today....
Today since we have gotten home, Jack has:
-purposely spilled an entire bowl of runny oatmeal all over himself and his highchair
-brought bugs inside for closer inspection
-had a major diaper blow-out
Guess it could be worse....
He seems to be teething some more and keeps complaining about his mouth. We had professional photos done again on Saturday and he was NOT cooperative. He had his first decent tantrum at Babies R Us while we were waiting for our appointment. We got there early, and had to wait even longer because they did not have record of our (online) appointment. In the meantime Jack was freaking out over a remote control Lightening Mcqueen car that of course was sitting right next to where we were waiting for our appointment. So Mom ended up spoiling him and bought him the expensive car to avoid (more of) a meltdown before and during his photoshoot. Then he didn't want it. He came around and stopped crying not long into the photos-- but gave the poor photographer a workout. She had a great attitude despite Jack's uncooperative self. He would not sit still and would not smile-- similar to our last experience but x 10! He requested the wagon prop and proceeded to try and take off with it out of the studio and into the store repeatedly as Mom attempted to go over the photos.
We did get a few cute ones though, so we'll see. Gone are the days of 1 year photos that he proudly sat still like a big boy with a beaming smile!!

Birthday Countdown
Only 2 weeks (and a day) until Jack's birthday! October seems to be quite the month for birthdays. Last weekend we had fun with Auntie Kim going to an arts and crafts festival. It was outdoors this time and had more space so Jack did not get cranky. He had fun looking at everything from his stroller and ate a big piece of pizza. He even got to play on the slide and horsies at the park. It has been rainy recently so he now knows how to identify rain.
Yesterday he ate two big helpings of spaghetti, macaroni, and chicken nuggets at daycare!! He really seems to pig out there. He is still more picky at home but really loves cereal and yogurt. He also likes bananas which he still calls "nummanummas".
