Last Fiji post

At the main airport
Goodbye Fiji, 'till next time!!

Playing in the sand, and a few school visit photos

Above: Autnie Cassie looking at a school yearbook, Jack getting ready to pull her hair, and Dad in the library.

Below: A few of the teachers- the head teacher is below on the left, and set everything up for the lovely visit. The kids got us fresh coconuts, fresh juice, papaya, bananas, "pancakes" (donut drops)- so generous!

Drs Visit- 9 month Check-up

17 lbs 12 oz-- 10th percentile, he could chunk up some more
27.5 height- 25th percentile, not bad
45 head circumference- 50th percentile= average

JD had 2 shots and a check for iron deficiency today and was fine although not happy from the unsuspecting pokes. :( Sleeping right now!

View these from the bottom up -- poor Jack eating a sour Fijian orange

9 month photoshoot in Fiji

Coastal hike-- Sorry Jack, Dad won't smile when prompted- even in paradise

Fiji continued

From the coastal hike

busride
sleepy!

Jack is a world traveler!

Enjoying the view- taxi ride back from town on Taveuni Island
Peas are better on the beach!
Dad and Jack gathering, and sampling fruit at our lodging
The rainy flight to our layover, Suva

We went to a wedding in California before we headed to Fiji. The two above shots are from Laguna beach.

We got back from Fiji just yesterday. We are all still trying to get back to our old time schedule, although Jack has stuck to it quite well. His teething is bothering him more since we returned, he must have been distracted too much in Fiji to notice. He has the same two on the bottom, and 4 now through on the top. He says "Mama" a lot now, and even said "more" repeatedly when fed banana custard babyfood in the LAX airport that we had to buy in Fiji when we were low. He was SO excited when eating this and super happy.

Could Jack have been a better baby on the trip? Nope! He was seriously a dream. It helped tremendously to have Auntie Cassie there helping us. Although of course it is more work with a baby, we had a nice relaxing time. Everyone there adored Jack-- they do not see many little Caucasian babies. :) The women would often hold out their arms for him. Jack did not show any sign of being uncomfortable with anyone, perfect strangers and all. The Fijians do make you feel like part of the family though.

Many more photos to come!

Mama!!!

Jack just said Mama! Ok, so it was Mamamamama..... but that is how he began to say Dada. Hooray!

When Mom sings "Boom Boom Pow" from the Black Eyed Peas, Jack bops his head around a little like he's dancing. He also claps when Mom dances to this song.

Just now, Jack climbed almost 4 stairs all by himself (he figured out how to do it on his own, with Mom right behind just incase)-- Dad was egging him on from above, and JD looked up at him a few times and clearly said "Dada." Guess you won Dada.
