A flurry of words

Sharing goldfish crackers with Aunt Mandy

It's not a trough Jack!

Now that Jack turned 14 months old, he is getting quite the vocabulary. Here are some words he has said (repeatedly) so far: brr, blue, bear, dog, we think he says thank-you and some version of banana, up, down, bye, night, night-night, bath, flower (wower) hi (especially to the ladies), more, baba (bottle), dirty, no (or, no no no no), cracker, juice, done, on, Dada, Dad, Mama, Mom, door, out/outside, two, book, water (wawa), mmmm (although not really a word), poo-poo/poop (nice), maybe diaper, and he used to say purple and cat.

He is still as smiley and as energetic as ever. Right now he is taking a much needed nap. He fights off sleep as long as possible these days. Yesterday his naps kept getting interrupted because Mom was carting him all over the Northwest. We met Grandpa Howard and Grandma Ann for breakfast in Fairhaven and then went to see Auntie Linda and son Sean for the Children's Museum in Everett. Then we stayed the night at Great Grandma Geeg's and got to see Aunt Marly and Uncle Bob again before they left for home today. Definitely one of our busier days. He enjoys running laps at full wobbly speed (although he is much more sure-footed in his balance although still walking/running on his tip-toes) around Geeg's house. Her hallway is like his runway to take fight and squeal all the way. We have had so much fun seeing friends and family in WA and are not ready for the fun to come to an end too soon!

Merry Christmas!

Jack was such a fun character these past few days. Yesterday, Christmas Eve, he perfected the word "cracker." He says it quite a lot now! We were all sitting around the table at Great Grandma Geeg's when he said it. He even offered everyone at the table a bite.

He is getting very good at imitating sounds and words. He clearly says Hi, Bye, Hot, Robert (!) and more. He has adjusted so well to being carted around from house to house. Now he needs to go to bed. He has had so much fun entertaining family. Good night!

Daycare says Jack is like two kids in one. He is that much of a busy boy. Always going. Yesterday he dropped one of the ladies lotion in the toilet.

Today we went to Opportunity Village's Magical Forest. Photos to come! Jack had fun with Kim's kids.

Busy Boy

Jack pushes himself to a standing position from the ground with no problem. He loves his books "Brown Bear" and "One Fish, Two Fish..." (by Dr Seuss). We have them memorized! He tries to say "Brown Bear" and "teacher." He is a very busy boy now, playing independently and walking like such a pro. He likes to play with things with wheels.

Which way do we go Jack? Oh, ok.

Coastal CA drive home

Elephant seals!
This was about the extent of their movement.
They would throw sand and kelp on themselves every now and then.
