Jack drew and wrote this entirely by himself for his teacher! He had coaching with the letters though. :) It is a girl/house(or school?) with snow flakes falling. Rudolph is suspended by his red magic dust!!

It's already October?? Jack's Birthday Month!
Today Jack said that he wants to be a scientist who builds robots when he gets big. He also said that he wants to play rock and roll (with drums and guitar) on the beach. Big aspirations for someone who is not yet five!
This is Jack's first "mixed media" piece. Chalk and found object. It was a temporary installation at Mom's school.

Jack says the darndest things
Today...
"I want to be a handyman when I get big Mom. When things break, I can fix them. I can help you. I will still live at home then, when I'm big."
At least he will be earning his keep!
He has also talked about being an archaeologist for some time now. He said he wants a truck to put the dinosaur/other bones in and his team will be Dad and Mom. We can also ride in the truck.
He also wants a Bulldog. Or, Boulderdog as he calls it.

Jack in a hat
Jack has been going to his new classroom for nearly two weeks. He really seems to be enjoying it! He does not complain about the long days at school anymore, and is generally in better spirits. He is still taking karate.

Wrapping up the summer!
| Jack loves to build things out of Legos more than ever! |
| Playing with his new sprinkler whale |
We had a very fun time in WA state for nearly a month! Jack loved it so much, in fact, that he wants to move there! Since then we have been trying to get things done around the house in preparation for the new school year. Jack has been to school twice since we got back. He was not looking forward to it, but was very excited to see his friend Hayden there today. He was in a very good mood when picked up from school today.

Jack: "I can't take a nap Mom. There is a big red X on my bed."
He says this on our way back from Zion National Park, where we had just spent 2 nights. He did not nap on the drive there or back. But, he was a very good boy in the car. He only threw a metal airplane at the driver on our final stretch. Although he said he was not throwing it, he was just trying to make it fly.
Zion was a lot of fun! We did a little shopping in Springdale and ate at our favorite restaurants. We took our traditional hike to Weeping Rock and also walked The Grotto. We spent most of our time playing in the river. On our second day, we rode the bus up to Sinawava Temple and found a great spot on the river for kids.
Jack loves hotels...and lucky him, there were two beds in which to jump on...
Our first river day...
Trying to catch polly-wogs
Breakfast at Oscar's Cafe Day 2
Hungry!
Weeping Rock
The water was really dripping here...
At the river...
Jack "taking pictures"
Robot walk on a log
The water was REALLY cold...
At "The Grotto"....Jack spotted a deer here.
On the bus back, finally yawning....doesn't mean he'll sleep though.
