Christmas in the Northwest

Jack loved his first ferry ride to the San Juans!! This was Christmas Day.

These two were actually taken on the ride home when he was much more sleepy.

Modeling his Christmas sweater.

Grandma Ann and Grandpa Howard with Jack in Fairhaven.

Jack really wanted to check out the "bus."

Downtown B'ham...Brr!
Jack has been too cute telling everyone "Merry Christmas." The most impressive thing that he said though was a sentence. He was taking a bath, dropped a toy and said: "I'll get it....for you."
WOW! He has been a bundle full of energy (as usual...but it seems to be even more so) the entire time in WA. He has been a good boy despite all of Mama's running around to try and see everyone! Jack is a popular guy!

What a difference a year makes!

Jack at the 2010 Santa Run (above) vs. last year (below) which he slept through most of! It was much colder last year!

Counting the Days...

Decorating himself?

Jack is really in the Christmas spirit. He loves to go for walks when it gets dark to look at the neighborhood lights. Of course he is very into the concept of presents. Can't wait for our trip to WA!

Christmas Tree and Santa Run

Jack "helps" decorate his first Christmas tree. He was very excited.

Samantha and Peyton at before the Great Santa Run began. We walked.
Sam and Santa

Jack's first encounter with Santa. He would not make eye contact and wanted to get away!
We had walked around and looked at the booths before the race and were taking a rest.

Jack's First Tree

This was the first time we turned on the Christmas tree lights! Jack keeps saying, "my tree." At the end of the 2nd video he says, "Dada look, tree." Then he actually said "Christmas" a second after the video was stopped!

"Christmas!"

So, guess it's obvious but the first three are of "terrible two tantrums." Luckily he does not have many and they do not normally last long. This one was food related. In the first photo, he is taking a swing at the paparazzi. Charges will not be pressed.

Riding with monkey

Last weekend Jack said "Christmas" for the first time. We bought a small tree, a bit taller than him. He got very excited about it and helped put on decorations. He is better at taking off decorations though. Every night he says night-night to the tree, "man" (snowmen), and even the lights. He is getting more cuddly and gives hugs more lately. He is actually excited to see Mom come to pick him up at daycare now, instead of saying "nooooo" and running the other way.
We will attempt to post videos.....but Jack once again knocked the laptop on the floor and it is not working. So it may be awhile for "good" photos (from the good camera).

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jack is saying all kinds of things now. He says, "over there" and "turn" when we are turning when driving and "freeway" (it sounds like "faaay"). He gets mad sometimes when we get off the freeway, he seems to like going fast. He also says "hurry." When we were looking at a book the other day he said, "Mama, hurry" and turned the page. We are going to Grandpa Robert's soon for Thanksgiving. We can't wait to be in WA soon for Christmas and are hoping for some snow to play in!

Jack's 2nd Bday

Jack would not sit still for long....
He took forever to eat his cupcake!
(Before everyone arrived). The theme this year was all about everything Jack loves now:
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!

Jack had a lot of fun!

Happy Halloween!

Jack posing with firefighters
Town Square- not a busy section-- it was full of kids!!
Checking out the "wheels"
Armed and dangerous-- no monkey business!!
As usual, his pants are too big!
The view is better from up here!

Going down a slide is even more fun in a costume!

Jack's first trick-or-treating with Grandma
On our way to the festivities, in the elevator

In the hotel--- he loved his monkey costume. He did not see that it had a banana in his pocket until we got back that night. He said "numanuma" (banana) and "MMMM!"
