Screams and spouting food

Last night Jack was winding down for bed in his crib. Then he got a wild hair and was absolutely hyper. He would scream and the top of his lungs, then laugh like it was the funniest thing ever. Mom and Dad tried not to let him see them laughing. Eventually he wore himself out and went to sleep.

At daycare he is calling everything "dog." The fan is "dog" (he will point at it then say it), his bottle is "dog..."

Right now he is being very naughty and Mom is ignoring him momentarily. He has discovered that he can spit out his food after given a spoonful-- and it goes everywhere. So far the ignoring is not working because he keeps doing it, and is now screaming again.

New tooth sighting!

A new tooth has broken through...on the bottom! JD previously just had the two on the bottom, and this one is just to the right.

Jack's new foods and sounds

Jack is now eating a lot of "big boy" foods at daycare, like pizza, spaghetti, fish sticks, juice..... he always wants to be like the other kids. He is really trying to say a lot of words, but it is hard to tell just what he is saying. He seems to be saying "jump" and "car" for example. He makes growling noises and of course many squeals still.

The way to make an entrance

They only way to make an entrance into a room, is greeted by applause. Today when Mom picked up Jack at daycare he smiled hugely an clapped. He then (grinning still and holding onto Mom) proudly kept looking at one of the daycare ladies as if to say, "yep, that's my Mom!"

He also seems to play peek-a-boo-- the kids must play it with him at daycare.

Jack picked up how to blow his nose! Even though he hates having his nose wiped....now he will try and 'blow' his nose. He is such a big boy. At daycare, they report he wants to do everything the other kids do. If he could walk right now, he would be everywhere doing everything!

"Go"

Today daycare said Jack now says "go." He had entirely too much fun yanking (not pulling, but YANKING) Mom's hair when we got home. He thought it was a game and laughed so hard. He will be 11 months next week, and a year old NEXT MONTH!!

Yesterday we went to the bookstore. When we started looking at the bookshelves Jack said "book" or something close to that. :) At home he likes to point at things in books now and have you tell him what it is. Jack is pretty hard to photograph these days, always on the go. He still loves playing with cords and everything else he's not supposed to play with.

Cat and Dog

Today Jack definitely said Cat, and what sounded like Dog. He and Mom were looking at a book pointing out the animals. He had already said Cat one morning some time ago in his crib looking at our cats. He even said "buh" to pronounce bear today. He also fell asleep for his nap today without a binky. Just a little fussing and he was out. He has taken to naps in his jumper. If he has a comfy blanket to place his head on, he can kind of rock himself as needed in it.
