Jack had his first real poo-poo on the potty today (at least at home, may not be there first for daycare)! He is officially a big boy! He went pee-pee twice on his potty yesterday and seems to be getting the hang of it.
We just returned from a fun trip to visit Auntie Jamie in CO. Jack has been a perfect traveler in the past, but this time had some difficulties. On the way there he refused to nap on the plane and became extremely grumpy and loud. He was hitting his Mom, yelling, crying and all around being difficult. Yes, we were 'that' mother and son. He did not go to sleep until our slightly bumpy descent. When you consider his being in a seat for long periods of time and without sufficient naps, he really did pretty well.
We will forgive him for his rapscallion ways that caused us (Auntie Jamie too) to essentially get kicked out of the Georgia O'Keeffe museum in Santa Fe, NM. He would not be quiet as we were trying to enjoy the paintings. Then he would not stay still and kept trying to run around. The worst part was in the small theater area where a movie on the artist was playing. There was only one other lady in there at the time and Jack was just being a kid. Then Mom's phone rang and as she was trying to hang up a guard came over, and came over again. Then he gave us this hand motion that clearly meant, leave! So we promptly left with little pride remaining. Auntie Jamie reminded us of the humor in the situation and the fact that it makes for a good story!
Jack was much better on the return flight. We played cars for about 1.5 hours straight. This flight was pretty turbulent- his first one like that. With the big bumps he said, "Whoooooaaaa." Occasionally he would say "we going to fall down" with the bump. Luckily people nearby did not seem to hear that phrase, although they laughed as Jack said his Whoa's and he laughed after each big dip.
He is talking all the more and really understanding humor. It is as always a busy, but fun time.
